How ConformRadar checks a shop
Each check is based on a text in force or adopted, cited in the report. Here is what the robot reads, what it looks for and what it cannot see.
What the robot reads
- the home page and, if you entered one, the specific page given;
- the legal pages linked from the home page: legal notice, terms of sale, returns, reviews;
- up to 5 product pages, taken from the sitemap (sitemap.xml) or, failing that, from the home page links;
- 14 pages at most in total, one per second, respecting the robots.txt file.

Limits
- The robot reads the HTML sent by the server. Information displayed only after JavaScript runs may be missed.
- It cannot see the logged-in customer area, the checkout or your internal documents.
- It reads a sample of product pages, not the whole catalogue.
- It detects words and structures: it does not judge whether a claim is substantiated, nor the exact position or size of a mention.
- Directive 2024/825 applies across the EU from 27/09/2026; the French transposing law is still going through Parliament. The checks that depend on it will be adjusted to the final text.
