Free tool · Extended producer responsibility (EPR)
Find a company's EPR unique identifier in France
Enter a SIREN number (the 9-digit French company number) or a SIRET number (14 digits, French establishment number), a company name or an identifier (FR123456_01ABCD). The tool searches the public register of ADEME (the French Agency for Ecological Transition) and shows the registered identifiers, with the scheme of each identifier. The register is French, so EPR scheme names are shown in French.
What the unique identifier is for
A company that places on the market products covered by an extended producer responsibility scheme (household packaging, textiles, furniture, electrical equipment, toys…) must register with ADEME. It receives one unique identifier per scheme, in the format FR followed by six digits, an underscore, two digits and four characters.
This identifier proves that the company is registered, directly or through its éco-organisme (the organisation that runs the EPR scheme on behalf of producers). Marketplaces ask their sellers for it.
Where to display it
The producer states its unique identifier in the document setting out its terms and conditions of sale or, failing that, in any other contractual document provided to the buyer. If it has a website, it also provides the identifier there, in the same way as its legal notice (mentions légales). C. env. L. 541-10-13 · R. 541-173

If no identifier appears
- The company may be registered under another company in its group: try the name of the parent company or of the importer.
- The register is updated by ADEME; a very recent registration may not appear yet.
- If you place products covered by a scheme on the French market and you are not registered anywhere, contact the éco-organisme for your scheme or ADEME.
